September 11, 2011 ten years later
It is still so fresh in my mind of 911 10 years later today it seems like it was yesterday. I was in Crystal City, Arlington, VA just one mile from the Pentagon at work with the Army Inspector General Agency. I had my itty bitty black and white TV on watching Good Morning America with Charlie Gibson and saw what transpired that morning and the shock of all of us. Some of our divisions in our Agency were in the Pentagon and as I watch later down in the Chief of Chaplains office on their big screen TV I was in shock and tears at what had happened not knowing that another plane hit the Pentagon. Someone from my office came to the Chaplains to get me and say my son Bryan had called. I called Bryan back and he said something has hot the Pentagon I had just seen the 2nd plane hit the 2nd WTC tower and was trying to hold it together but my tears flowed. Bryan told me I should leave and go home which I did and my friends Barb and Darlene rode with me from Arlington to Woodbridge having to stop and drop Barb off at McDonald's waiting for her husband to pick her up. I got home a few minutes after 1 pm after leaving my office around 10:05 am thank God I knew all the back roads to get us home. I will never forget that day as long as I live. God Bless America...
