Outer Banks Blog and Earl Cantori

I got back from my latest trip to the Outer Banks on June 16, 2007. I really wish that I could talk my husband Earl into selling our house and moving down there in 2009 after I retire. I have given my hubby the nick name of Earl Cantori because he is an avid weather watcher. Earlio loves studying the weather and watches the Weather Channel a lot. In this picture Earl is having a hard time standing because the wind is blowing hard and the sand is blowing with foam from the ocean. Hurricane Wilma was out in the Atlantic off the coast of the Outer Banks, NC.
When I was a kid growing up in Jacksonville, North Carolina our dad would take us down to Onslow Beach, NC when there were storms and hurricanes coming toward the coast of NC. I remember one time when dad took us to the beach and a hurricane was making it's way toward the coast of NC. I remember mom and dad had to put towels and rugs against our front and back doors to keep the wind and water out. One time during a hurricane our TV antenna came crashing in through our window. My sister Bonnie and I had a little wooden sandbox that our dad and a buddy had made for us. The sandbox had a red and white vinyl striped top and had little built in seats on each side. I loved that sandbox but during that hurricane it was torn up and blown into neighbors yards behind our house.

Here is Earl's cousin Jim Cantori of the Weather Channel on location in Nags Head, NC.
